The Advantage of Dyslexia

As a child I misread words and was easily confused. At that time there was no name for dyslexia. My teachers kept telling me to work more slowly, but my rapid-fire brain wouldn't slow down. I learned to compensate, to double-check everything, to try to pay more attention to what I was doing. But to this day, whenever I am stressed, my brain goes into neutral.

I have, however, found one advantage of dyslexia. Misreading words gives me ideas for collages. This one expresses how dyslexia feels to me.
