Vie w

My creative process relies a lot on association. Today, as I grabbed a pile of words and lay them out on the table, the word View caught my eye. I have been contemplating life and death since my mother died in January, so what I saw was the word Vie (French for Life) with an extraneous w. I think that one of the most significant things a person can do is to learn a foreign language. In that way you also absorb another culture, another way of thinking, and an additional way of seeing the world.
